Answers
  1. Do you have.........?
Probably! I have many MANY patterns that are not online yet- I love receiving requests because it lets me know which galleries YOU are interested in and I can update accordingly!

  2. What is in a "pattern package" (Basic pattern information)?
In my chart packages you will receive a full page picture color block picture (the ones shown here are the "stitched" view), approximately 3-12 black and white symbol chart pages with the outside edge removed to assist you in assembling your chart, floss list optimized for DMC, chart instructions and a list of any colors you will need more than 1 skein of to complete your design as charted. 15-60 colors are used in non-Challenger charts (50 is the average). Finished size will vary with your fabric choice and remember: O&I charts use no fractional's, blends or specialty stitches (excluding the Quin Stagman/Scattered Stitches Gallery).

  3. How can I order? (Ordering options explained)
You can order easily by using the shopping cart feature regardless of how you plan to pay.

    Ordering options are as follows:
Email .pdf: you will receive your chart as an emailed attachment in .pdf format. Adobe .pdf reader is a program that is already installed on most computers whether you are aware of it or not :o)
Email PCS7: you will receive your chart as an emailed attachment in PCStitch Pattern Viewer format. This gives you much more flexibility in printing the chart amongst other benefits. The viewer software is a free download and if you don't have it already just stop into the Downloads area (you'll find it in the menu on the right hand side of your screen while viewing the catalog). *NOTE- if you are already using Pattern Maker you will need to actually open the viewer and THEN the chart to avoid problems as both software manufacturers use the same extension to designate their files (.pat).

  4. What payments do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, and in U.S. funds only personal checks (held 10 days at my discretion but I will take eBay feedback as a reference), money orders & cashiers checks. I realize that some of my International customers prefer to send cash and I would like to say that I highly discourage this and while it's never gotten lost yet I will not be responsible should yours go astray.

  5. I live in Canada (Spain, France, England, Holland etc)- can I still order?
Of course! I ship worldwide and have sent patterns/ charts to all of those countries and many more! As an International buyer you will not pay a handling charge- only what it actually costs to ship according to the U.S. post office. Also, you can always receive your charts by email and avoid shipping charges completely!

  6. I saw a similar pattern at another website for much more- why are yours so much lower? What's the difference?
Not much! While some other sites do print their patterns on cardstock (and charge $15-25 for it) I print mine on acid-free, high-quality paper and charge less than 1/2! To my knowledge that is the ONLY difference- as a stitcher myself I am aware that most of these patterns will be placed in sheet protectors anyway and feel it would be an unnecessary cost to pass on to you- so the $25 you might have spent somewhere else for one pattern can instead buy 4 patterns here!

  7. How can I reach you?
By phone I can be reached at: 1-563-536-2265, however- this is a personal home phone so please be sure and ask for "QUIN" or the kids will likely think you are a telemarketer and hang up :o). By snail mail I can be reached at: Odds & In's POBox 122, Farmersburg IA, 52047. By email I can be reached at: quin@oddsandinsonline.com.

  8. I'd like to be updated as your site changes but I don't want a lot of junk mail.
No worries! I ONLY email the entire yahoo group when the freebies come out or to notify you of a sale- this means you usually receive the newsletter twice a month though the list is used daily- if you don't care to receive anything EXCEPT the Special Announcements just log in to Yahoo and change your preferences or email me and let me know the address you signed up with and I'll do it for you. I do not sell my list names and I do not use them for any other purpose. You are not automatically added when you email me however- if you'd like to be on the list either sign up at the bottom of this page or let me know next time you email me and I will add your name.

  9. Your pictures don't look as "smooth" as those I've seen at another pattern site- why?
Because I'm proud of my work! I show the actual pattern pictures- not the picture the design was based on~ I feel that it's a misrepresentation as the design will NOT look exactly the same as the original. I want you to know exactly what you're getting WITHOUT any surprises after you've put in hours and hours of work! I strongly recommend that everyone take a look at the "A Good Painting Gone Bad" section found on the main page near the bottom- whether you buy from me or are shopping somewhere else this is information you NEED to know!

  10. I'm worried about copyright infringement, it's been in the news alot- where do your pictures come from?
All of my designs are based on images that are either in the public domain or privately copyrighted with permission for use given to me by the artist- if you see a contemporary design that you like you will find a link to the artist nearby and I encourage you to take a peek as they have some wonderful works! If you are an artist and are interested in seeing some of your work used in my designs email me (quin@oddsandinsonline.com) including a URL where I can look at your work.

  11. I want to order by mail and pay by check- can I?
Yes! Personal checks, money orders and cashiers checks are accepted by mail- you may send cash but I discourage this and will not be responsible if it gets lost in the mail- it is at your own risk! Just select 'check/money order' when checking out with the cart and then print your order off at the end and mail it along with your payment (or at minimum include your order # with your payment).

  12. I embroider, needlepoint etc- can you accomodate me and how?
My charts have been used for needlepoint, beading, counted x-stitch- you can use them for nearly anything! For needlepointers specifically I suggest you visit the Extras section and then click on "Conversions"- you will find a conversion from DMC to tapestry yarns and for beaders do check out the bead conversion chart.

  13. Do you stitch?
This is probably the number 1 question I hear LOL! Yes I do! I am an avid stitcher working on almost anything that catches my eye. I have stash coming out of my ears, buy my fabric by the yard, own a complete set of Mill Hill beads and can't walk out of the Backstitch (my local needlework shop) without SOMETHING! I've got a truly bad case and I love it! I actually learned to stitch almost 25 years ago and I am eternally grateful that I've learned to rotate my projects as I get "burned out" far, far less now and at the end of a day it soothes me to sit on the couch and work on something with everyone else (finally) sleeping and quiet. If you'd like to see what I've been stitching here is my album: http://www.quins-auction.com/gallery/Quin

  14. How do you convert the art to a chart?
I've been asked this question so many times that finally I "bit the bullet" and wrote an article on it for www.jackandsusie.com. You can read the article here at my site but I strongly encourage you to take a look at their wonderful site as well! The Article
